Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis is a profound change or
transformation. While often associated with the biological development of
animals, the term can also describe other significant changes.
In biology, metamorphosis refers to a
biological process in which an animal undergoes a dramatic physical
transformation after birth or hatching, involving distinct stages of
development and changes in body structure.
In art, it's often used to represent profound change,
psychological states, and the fluidity of identity. Surrealist artists like
Salvador Dalí and Max Ernst utilized metamorphosis to depict dream states and
the unconscious.
